Shopping Abroad? Don’t Worry About Taxes When You Return to Indonesia!

Returning to Indonesia after shopping abroad often makes us feel anxious, especially about taxes and import duties on shopping items. But, don’t worry! Now there are regulations that make it easier for travelers, especially those shopping for personal needs.

If we only shop for personal needs with a maximum customs value of FOB USD 500 per person for each arrival, then we will be given an exemption from import duties but must fill out a custom declaration. The custom declaration will ask us to list what items we are shopping for, how much, and other information needed.

With this policy, you can be more relaxed when shopping for personal needs abroad. So, don’t let worries about taxes interfere with your vacation! Make sure you know the applicable restrictions and provisions so that your trip back to Indonesia runs smoothly without tax problems.
